1. Overview

ProtoVoice respects the privacy rights of California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). This page explains how we comply with California privacy law and how California residents can exercise their rights.

2. What is the CCPA?

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), is a comprehensive privacy law that gives California residents control over their personal information. It grants rights to know what data is collected, delete personal information, opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and limits the use of sensitive personal information.

3. Who This Applies To

CCPA rights apply to California residents, defined as natural persons who are in California for other than a temporary or transitory purpose, or who are domiciled in California but temporarily outside the state. If you are a California resident and interact with ProtoVoice—either as a customer or as a caller speaking with a ProtoVoice-powered agent—you have rights under the CCPA.

4. Categories of Personal Information Collected

  • Identifiers: Name, email address, phone number, IP address, account credentials.
  • Commercial Information: Transaction history, services purchased, billing records.

7. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

ProtoVoice does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not receive monetary consideration in exchange for personal information. We also do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You do not need to submit an opt-out request because we do not engage in these practices.

8. Right to Know

  • California residents have the right to request that we disclose:
  • The categories of personal information we collected about you.
  • The categories of sources from which we collected personal information.
  • The business or commercial purposes for collecting personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share personal information.
  • The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.

9. Right to Delete

California residents have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected. Upon receiving a verified request, we will delete your personal information from our records and direct our service providers to do the same, unless an exception applies. Exceptions include retaining information necessary to complete a transaction, detect security incidents, comply with legal obligations, or for internal uses aligned with your expectations.

10. Right to Correct

California residents have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information. If you believe information we hold about you is incorrect, you can submit a correction request. We will evaluate your request and, if we determine the information is inaccurate, we will correct it and instruct our service providers to do the same.

11. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Information

The CPRA provides rights regarding sensitive personal information. ProtoVoice uses sensitive personal information (such as account login credentials) only for purposes permitted under the law, such as providing our services and ensuring security. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require us to offer a right to limit.

12. How to Exercise Your Rights

  • You can submit CCPA requests through the following methods:
  • Email: Send your request to privacy@protovoice.ai with "CCPA Request" in the subject line.
  • Web Form: Submit a request through our privacy portal at protovoice.ai/privacy-request.
  • Phone: Call us at (480) 555-0123 to submit a request.
  • We will verify your identity before processing requests. You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf with proper documentation.

13. Verification Process

To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before fulfilling CCPA requests. For requests to know categories of information, we verify your identity to a reasonable degree of certainty. For requests for specific pieces of information or deletion, we verify to a reasonably high degree of certainty. Verification may include matching information you provide with information we have on file.

14. Response Timing

  • We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days.
  • We will respond to your request within 45 calendar days.
  • If we need additional time (up to 45 more days), we will notify you of the reason.
  • If we cannot verify your identity, we will explain why we cannot comply.

15. Non-Discrimination

ProtoVoice will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights. We will not deny services, charge different prices, provide a different quality of service, or suggest you will receive different treatment for exercising your rights. However, we may offer financial incentives for the collection or retention of personal information, which would be disclosed at the time of the offer.

16. Service Providers

We work with service providers who process personal information on our behalf. These providers are contractually required to use personal information only for the business purposes specified in our agreements and to maintain appropriate security measures. They are prohibited from selling or using personal information for their own purposes.
